We are glad you are thinking about joining us. Here is what happens between your first visit and the day your booth opens.
Apply Online
Start with our vendor application. Tell us what you make, how much space you think you need, and how to reach you. We read every application ourselves. If we have questions, we will call or email you.
Sign Your Contract and W-9
Every vendor signs a vendor agreement and fills out a W-9 form. You can choose a three month, six month, or twelve month contract. Your contract starts on its effective date and runs through the last day of the term you picked. If you start in the middle of a month, we begin counting your term on the first day of the next month.
What You Pay Up Front
At signing you pay your first month of rent, your last month of rent, and a damage deposit equal to one month of rent. If you sign partway through a month, we pro-rate that first month so you only pay for the days you have. Your rent depends on the size and location of the space you choose, and there is also a commission on your sales. Both are written into your contract before you sign anything.
Pick Your Space
Booths, shelves, and cabinets are all different sizes, and they are assigned as they become available. Once your space is yours, you get a vendor number that stays with you for your whole contract.
Set Up Your Booth
Set up during low traffic times so you have room to work. We can usually meet you before or after regular business hours. Every item has to be scanned, labeled, and priced before it goes out. Anything in your booth that is not for sale needs to be clearly marked. At least eighty percent of what you sell must be handmade — this is a handmade shop first.
Your Four Hours a Month
Every vendor spends four hours a month working in the store, helping customers, wrapping gifts, and keeping things tidy. There is always a paid employee working with you, so you are never on your own, and we provide a short customer service video before your first shift. If your schedule will not allow it, you can choose instead to have an additional percentage of your sales go toward the cost of running the store.
Come to the Monthly Meeting
We hold a monthly vendor meeting to talk through what is working, what is not, and what is coming up. We stream it and take notes for anyone who cannot make it, but we hope you will come. This is your shop too.
Questions
Ask us. We would much rather answer a question now than fix a misunderstanding later.
